Charlotte Kopelman, L.M.S.W.
Licensed Master Social Worker
Charlotte Kopelman received her Master of Social Work from NYU, where she received clinical training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based approaches. She is also a graduate of the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Union Square Cognitive Therapy, Charlotte gained clinical experience in hospital, medical, crisis intervention, and school-based settings. She has also worked collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams, supporting clients through trauma, chronic medical conditions, and other complex circumstances with empathy, consistency, and thoughtful clinical care.
Charlotte specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and body image concerns. She has received specialized training in CBT for ARFID (CBT-AR), CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for eating disorders. She also has a particular interest in working with adolescents and young adults with food allergies and intolerances that contribute to their anxiety and disordered eating.
Charlotte completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course in 2020 and maintains a consistent meditation practice herself. She incorporates mindfulness and a mind-body perspective into her clinical work. Charlotte strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood and empowered to develop healthier coping strategies and to move toward the lives they want to lead. At the heart of Charlotte’s clinical approach is a belief in the transformative power of human connection.
Charlotte is licensed to practice in New York.
